Meteor Shower 12-23-14

Dec 23, 2014 Get ready for a good meteor shower tonight into Tuesday morning. The Ursid meteor shower is peaking tonight — and we should have a good view this year. That’s because the moon is just one day past its new phase, so light reflected won’t wash out the shower. They’re called the Ursids because they appear to come from the constellation of Ursa Minor. They’re best seen during the last dark hour before dawn, and there should be about 10 shooting stars per hour. If you can’t see tonight’s meteor shower due to light pollution or bad weather, you can still catch the Ursids online thanks to the Slooh Community Observatory: http://WolfRadio.net
