  • Deadly car crash in Westfield

    The street was shut down Saturday night, but is now back open. Rachel FazioPublished: October 16, 2016, 5:35 am   WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – 22News is following a deadly car accident that occurred in Westfield last night. The accident happened late Saturday night on Russellville and Cabot Rd. When our 22News crews first arrived, the road was closed and taped off. Sgt Mike Kane told 22News It was a single vehicle crash that has left one person dead. Another person was taken to Baystate Medical Center, and their condition is not known at this time. The car was completely totaled after hitting a tree. Rusellville and Cabot roads are now back opened. The accident is currently under investigation with the Hampden County District attorney’s office.   • Multi-car crash backing up Route 202 in Holyoke

    HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – People driving between Westfield and Holyoke will be dealing with delays Tuesday morning, due to a three-car crash on Route 202. The accident, which took place just east of the city line, has traffic heavily backed up in both directions. Our 22News crew could see police officers allowing only one lane of traffic to pass at a time. Information on injuries and the cause of the crash was not immediately available from Holyoke Police.
